The children participated in a range of activities to support their learning about the importance of road safety. They played the ‘Stop/Go’ game on the bikes and road circuit in the garden. We made traffic light biscuits. We gave the children the opportunity to have real-life experiences, by safely crossing the local roads to nursery, using the traffic lights and zebra crossings.
We shared and discussed safe crossing strategies with the children at story time including remembering to walk safely, look and listen, hold hands as well as wearing a seat belt when they are travelling in a vehicle.
When you are out and about as a family, remember to always talk to your children about how to stay safe when out in the local community and beyond.
